Historic Cary Hill is once again available to the public! The newly renovated and restored house (ca. 1741) and 60-acre grounds are now available for weddings & commitment ceremonies, corporate events, and private parties.

Discover the peace and privacy for your event that locals have enjoyed for nearly three centuries! Cary Hill’s ballroom and parlor are elegantly appointed with period antiques. The iron fireplace back, dated 1741, is still in place. The warming closet, from which refreshments have been served for generations, is still in use for parties and gatherings. The lush grounds include a deep swimming pool with an expansive bluestone slate surround and lounge, making it perfect for outdoor entertaining.
The historic home and grounds also feature a charming three-bedroom guest cottage, Holly Hill, available to include in event packages for the perfect retreat!

For nature lovers and fishermen, Chickahominy Wildlife Management Area on Morris Creek is close by; boat rentals are available at River’s Rest Marina nearby. Rent a kayak or canoe from Chickahominy Riverfront Park, just minutes away. For history lovers, the James River Plantations are worth the short drive east or west on our beautiful Virginia State Byway, Route 5.
Take a short drive and explore the Historic Triangle of Williamsburg-Jamestown-Yorktown, fine dining, and outlet shopping! Several great golf courses, as well as seasonal pari-mutuel horseracing at Colonial Downs, are nearby. The Capitol Bike Trail runs along Route 5 for bicycle enthusiasts. Or follow the Colonial Wine Trail, featuring our award-winning local wineries including New Kent Winery, Saude Creek Vineyards, and the Williamsburg Winery!
